The Data Transfer Unit is an easy to use menu driven lock programmer and interrogator. Once the main system is set up all the information required to program the property can be downloaded to the DTU. It performs the following functions:
Download CardLock program - The Nexus lock uses re-programmable technology. When the lock is first installed its software is loaded. Any software upgrades in the future can also be loaded into the locks without the need for expensive hardware changes, thus protecting the initial investment.
Programming lock details - The system has been developed to cater to a hotel's complete locking requirements. All doors in the property can be included, from guest rooms to stores, offices, leisure facilities, executive areas and perimeter access.
Interrogating the lock - The DTU communicates with the lock to view the last 300 card transactions, giving card details and the time and date used. This information can then be stored on the DTU and uploaded to the main system or printed at the door. Copies can be printed and permanent records can be saved to disk.
Trouble Shooting - From time to time things never go as expected, but rather than leaving your staff guessing as to what any problem at the lock might be, the DTU can be used to prompt possible causes. Details of the problem (such as invalid cards, expired time, data corruption) will be displayed and therefore easily rectified.
